Affordable Housing Matters is a monthly television series on WLAE – New Orleans Public Television that educates and informs viewers on all aspects of Affordable Housing in the metro New Orleans area. AHM is a trusted resource of valuable information for people looking to rent apartments as well as those who are looking to purchase a home.
Produced in conjunction with Willwoods Community Management, an affordable housing provider, Affordable Housing Matters addresses the many challenges facing people who need help understanding what they need to know in order to obtain quality affordable housing. This monthly digital media series also addresses concerns about the ever changing housing market in our city and helps both renters and potential homebuyers make the right decisions.

Hosted by veteran broadcast journalist Norman Robinson, Affordable Housing Matters is produced in a magazine talk show format with video segments and expert guests providing information, education and analysis to assist audiences interested in the New Orleans housing and apartment rental market and the home buying process. This half hour program also is edited into short videos for use on websites, tablets and mobile devices.
“The city of New Orleans has a great need for quality, affordable housing”, said Wayne Mayeux, Vice-President of Willwoods Community Management. “Not only is it necessary for many of our underserved population, but also for the elderly and those on fixed incomes. We’re committed to providing quality affordable residences and helping those who want to better their lives with home ownership,” Mayeux added.
In this inspiring film honoring the Maestro’s 17-year legacy as the Adelaide Wisdom Benjamin Music Director and Principal Conductor of the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, viewers will enjoy selections from Prieto’s LPO finale concert at the Orpheum Theatre in May 2023, and learn about his most significant contributions to New Orleans culture and to classical music worldwide from fellow musicians, benefactors, and Carlos himself. His legacy of showcasing rising musicians, especially those of Latino and Black heritage, and instilling a love for classical music in thousands of students has been a priceless gift to all.
